Praying on Twitter?

Twitter is a micro-blogging service, and we found out that it fits nicely for short prayers requests and short written prayers. Our username is 'flashprayer' and that's how it works:

  1. You just have to click this link to start following flashprayer and receive the updates.
  2. If you have a tweeter username and password, just login. Otherwise, you can create it in 2 very simple steps.
  3. Once you are logged, you can post prayer requests or write short prayers by posting them to @flashprayer. Just start your post with @flashprayer and it will come to us
For example, to ask us to pray for your marriage:
    • On Twitter, under "What are you doing?", type: "@flashprayer Can you please pray for my marriage?"
  4. Because you started your post with @flashprayer, it will come to us. We will then copy your request to our timeline (the box on the right), and also write our prayer there. Everyone who is following 'flashprayer' will be able to see it and also pray for it.

Please note: if your request is private, don't post it this way, but on your twitter page, send us a "Direct Message" and we will share it just with our prayer team.

If you are new to Twitter, you will find lots of tips and good help here.

We believe that this is a very simple and effective way to share short prayers. Prayers  don't have to be long and tedious. Actually, when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He gave them a simple and short template, known today as "The Lord's Prayer". Short, sweet and powerful.

We pray that you will enjoy this service. After all, the Kingdom of God is a relational one - it's about a relationship with the Father and with one another. We are doing both here.
