Thank you for being here with us today, guys. Kind of a lighter setup today in a smaller room. They had an event yesterday, so thanks for working with us. And kind of a different feel is always good, you know, kind of have a little different feel. We’ll be back in our regular room next week.
And who’s ready to grow our church? Yeah. Yeah, we’re ready. We’re ready to do this. We had an amazing outreach day yesterday.
A lot of good things happened there. It was real exciting. Met a lot of people out on the beach. We gave away coffee donuts, had prayer tents, put together packages for the JCOC, picked up trash. It was great, guys.
Just an awesome opportunity. And we got so much feedback from our community. People were going out evangelizing, handing out cards. People were responding. A lot of prayer was happening.
My goodness, man. That’s what it’s all about, right? And that and getting out there, not just being in here. Getting out there is real. Is just as important as being here and being fed, right?
Amen. Amen. Why are we here? Why are we here? To be fed.
To go out and be salt and light in this world. Amen. Amen. So let’s go do this. I want to share a few things with you real quick.
We got a real exciting August and September coming up, and I’m not going to throw out everything that’s happening, but these are going to be ways you can help bring people into the house. What did I talk about last week? In the kingdom of God? God wants our house to be full. He wants it.
He sends us out the highways and byways so this house can be full. Because the church. He went to the church people first, right? The church people said, I’m too busy. He said, okay, well, then go to the people that aren’t a part of the family yet.
Right? Let’s go out and invite people. So we’ve got something coming up in August. I think I have it here. I had it in my bible.
You probably have it in your insert. Where is it? Where’s that little card at? Oh, here it is. I got it.
I got it right here. Right here. Okay, everybody pull that out. Pull that out right there. Pack the bus.
Pack the bus. All right, so we’re so beginning next week, we’re gonna have a pack the bus table. We’re gonna. Are we gonna do like a bus or something that people can throw stuff? There’ll be actual bus.
A bus there. Not an actual bus, but. And we’re going to just bring. There’s supplies we need so through the. She’s announcing it for me there.
So we’ve got a number of supplies we need brought in. So y’all come on in. Let’s pack that bus. And then on August 25, we’re going to have a back to school store that we’re going to have set up on Sunday morning. I like it.
I mean, there’s two people like it over here. That’s. That’s great. Come on, guys. Come on.
Mandy, we put a little thought into this, okay? All right. And what we want to do is we want to invite families in, maybe those who need school supplies. We’ll have backpacks. We’ll have those supplies.
They can come in and get what they need out of the supplies. These are what the school system is asking for in Virginia beach and other surrounding cities as well. We want to do what we can to just bless families, bless people, bring them to church, give them, help them out, but really just point them to Jesus, right? That’s what we’re all about. And communicate the gospel of Jesus, and that’s a big part of that.
So go ahead and start getting the word out. That’s a Sunday that you want to be here if you can’t afford school supplies or if you’re like me, I just, gosh, it helps a lot to get some pencils and get some, some binders and things like that. So we’re super excited about that. Also, we’re going to have prayer Tuesdays. Prayer Tuesdays in August, location to be announced, but that will begin the week after next.
And we’re going to get together and we’re going to pray and we’re going to pray for this city. We’re going to pray for our church. We’re going to pray for the families in our church. We’re going to pray for our nation. And if you personally need prayer, come on out and we’ll pray for you.
You know, we’ll pray for you. Whatever that need might be. Maybe it’s financial need. Maybe it’s a healing need that you need met. Whatever that is.
Maybe it’s a family member. Maybe it’s somebody in your family’s salvation. Come on out and we’ll pray together. We’re going to dedicate August to prayer and the upcoming season where we see more people come back to church and looking for church. And we’re going to take that opportunity and we’re going to.
To bless this city. We’re going to grow this church. We’re going to see God move in mighty ways because this is the kingdom of God. This is the kingdom of God. Amen.
And we’ve been talking about the kingdom of God. I’ve done kind of a three week series. This will be the third week. I’m talking about the kingdom of God. I don’t know what led me.
Well, I do know what led me. The Holy Spirit. His name is the Holy Spirit. And I’m going to talk about him today. Actually, he led me to talk about the kingdom of God because Jesus was preoccupied with the kingdom of God.
And we’re ending our summer of salt series. By the way, next week you can come back for we start our Nehemiah series. We’re going to talk about the good work and your part in the good work. And this kind of builds off of this, the kingdom of God because, you know, the Bible’s kind of like that. It kind of goes together, right?
It just builds on top of each other. But today we’re going to end the series talking about the power of the kingdom, this power that comes from the kingdom. Because you need this power. You need power. Did you know that as a believer you need power?
You can’t do it on your own. You need God. You need God to be a part of that. You need power. And I want to use this word Pentecost.
And when you first hear the word Pentecost, I’m sure there’s different types of ideas that pop in your head. Some of you relate it to a denomination to handle snakes, right? Some of you are going that direction, right? By the way, I’m ordained under a pentecostal denomination and we are part of a pentecostal church and we do not handle snakes. Okay?
Okay. So that’s just a weird idea. Some of you are, you don’t know. Maybe when you hear about the Holy Spirit, when you hear about power, when you hear about we need power, depending on your denominational background. And the hard part about being a church with many denominational backgrounds, because we have people from all different types of walks of life, right?
We’ve got people who are Baptist, Methodists, Presbyterian, Episcopalian. We have a lot of different types of people here in this room. So it’s a challenge for a pastor to be able to talk about the Holy Spirit because frankly, some of you never even heard of the Holy Spirit. And if you heard of the Holy Spirit, you had a limited knowledge of the Holy Spirit. You knew the Holy Spirit was a part of the Trinity.
You knew the Holy Spirit was available to us, but you probably didn’t know much about it. So today my hope is to help you understand, really what, who the Holy Spirit is. And in fact, in acts 19 one and two, Paul even had to explain the Holy Spirit to a group of people. He says, while Apollos was at Corinth, and if you’re with me, you can follow along your notes. There’s a dividend in your divide.
There’s a notes there, and you can pull that out. And I would challenge you to take notes and go home and study this. And it says, while Paulus was in Corinth, if you know who Paulus is, he was kind of Paul’s alter ego. He was working in a region, and Paul took the road through the interior and arrived in Ephesus. And there he found some disciples, some followers, and ask them, did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?
And they’re like, no, we haven’t even heard of the Holy Spirit. We have not even heard of this. And some of you are probably there, you know, and if we look at the proper context of this in the original Greek, the best way to translate this is we have not heard that the Holy Spirit is given. Some of you know about the Holy Spirit, and I’m sure these believers knew about the Holy Spirit, but they didn’t really know it was given to him in another way. And as we see in this context and in this picture, as you read along, Paul says, okay, we’re going to.
You’ve been baptized. And they said, we’ve been baptized in John, which for the repentance of sin. And he says, that’s the repentance of sin, but I want to baptize you in another way. And so they baptized them again in Jesus Christ, and then they laid hands on them and they received power. They separate those two things.
And that’s interesting that we go that direction, because there’s many different perspectives on that scripture. But today we’re taking the perspective, and I believe is the true perspective, that because it aligns with other parts of scripture, such as John 739, which says, for as yet, the spirit had not been given because Jesus was not yet glorified. The original greek kind of compares very, very equally to that scripture. So we need to know about the Holy Spirit, and we need to know that the Holy Spirit is available. In fact, if you want to do some further study, Roger Stronstad has the charismatic theology of Luke, which he argues that Luke and acts are just one big book, and the focus on that is the power of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit being available to us as the church is launched and in that perspective, when we look at scripture, when we look at Luke’s account, particularly in that scripture, we can say that something more is available to us, something powerful is available to us.
So I want to change gears and take you to three different holidays to kind of show you where we are in this line, in this timeline, if you want to call it that. First of all, we have the Passover. Passover. Now, let me state this first, okay? Matthew 517 says this.
Do not think that I have come to abolish law. This is Jesus talking or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. So when we look at the Old Testament, when we look at the ceremonial laws, the civil laws, all that’s there, they communicate Jesus. They’re the fulfillment of Jesus.
Everything is about Jesus. And when we look through the eyes from a christian perspective, as believers and we look at the Old Testament, we see Jesus as fulfilled. Everything there is fulfillment. That’s what I want to show you today as far as these three ceremonies are concerned. So, first of all, we have the Passover, which is salvation.
Passover, which shows us salvation. Passover, as many of you probably know, is a jewish holiday that celebrates the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt. They were under egyptian bondage. And most of you, even if you’re not a church person, you know about Moses, you know Charlton Heston, and you know the ten Commandments, and you’ve watched the movie and you’ve watched the cartoon, and you kind of know the story, and you’ve seen that. And what we know about that is Pharaoh’s heart was hardened when Moses went in to ask for the people to let his people go, to let his people be delivered from slavery under egyptian bondage.
Of course, Pharaoh’s heart would not allow him to listen to God and let the people go. So there were ten plagues that were put on Egypt. And we see these plagues in scripture. But the most horrific of those plagues was the last plague, the 10th plague. That was the plague of the death angel.
That God sent a death angel over the land of Egypt, and every firstborn died. But he gave the Israelites a way out. He gave the hebrew slaves a way out. He asked him to sacrifice a lamb and put them over the doorposts, and then that the death angel would pass over. So that’s why we call it Passover, right?
That the death angel. Passover. They celebrated the Passover. They celebrated that the death angel passed over their home, which communicated that God had forgiven them of their sins. The blood of a lamb forgives them.
There’s a sacrifice that covers their sins. Well, we see that fulfillment in Jesus Christ on Passover. Jesus was sacrificed at 09:00 a.m. did you know that?
09:00 a.m. the jewish celebration, the Passover lamb was sacrificed at 09:00 a.m. in the jewish ceremony.
The lamb was put in the oven at 03:00 p.m. jesus was put in the tomb at 03:00 p.m. the lamb was emblematic of the sacrifice of sinse.
Jesus is emblematic of the sacrifice of sins. He died for our sins. That’s why first corinthians five seven, for Christ, our Passover lamb. They knew full well what that meant when he said that Christ, our passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Amen.
We need nothing else that stands alone in itself, that it is not by works. We are saved. Right? It is by the grace of Jesus Christ. That’s why ephesians two eight nine says, for it is by grace.
You have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourself, okay? It’s not you. I was having a conversation with somebody just yesterday in our outreach, and he was. And everything was focused about what he does.
And, you know, he was an unchurched guy, and I was, you know, just having some conversation, ministering to him, and it was all about what he does and what he’s trying to do, and he’s missing out on this beautiful thing called a relationship with Jesus Christ. That it is a gift. It is a gift. Not by works, so that no one can boast. Isn’t that beautiful?
That could just. We can just leave today. Praise God. Amen. We are saved.
But it doesn’t stop there. God said he has more for us. Which brings us to the next holiday, and that’s pentecost. Pentecost. The power to make a difference is what we’re calling that.
See, in Pentecost, it literally means 50 50. 50 days after the Passover. So Jesus was resurrected and for 50 days. Right. We understand Pentecost to mean this event in acts two that happened, but in jewish celebration and jewish commemoration, they would have this holiday 50 days after Passover, and it represented Moses and Mount Sinai and the giving of the ten commandments that that power came.
God showed up. The finger of God again, that Charlton Heston scene that all of you guys are thinking of. I know right now where he’s on the mountain, and God’s like, yeah, that’s what the Bible says. He came in of fire. The finger of God.
And a cloud descended and a loud noise and fire took place. Place. Powerful. And they recognize that. And God wrote these commandments to his people.
But as we know, the people rebelled. And 3000 people as a result of the rebellion. The calf at the bottom of the mouth. And when Moses came down off the mountain we see rebellion. Does that sound familiar?
Rebellion. Rebellion. And as a result, 3000 people died that day under the hand of God. That’s how serious God takes it, right? The power of God, the presence of God, the commandments of God.
But let me show you something good. Because on the day of Pentecost when they were in that upper room, what happened? Fire fell. The power of God fell. And nothing.
And the commandments were no longer written on tablets. They were written on the hearts of the people. And God wrote his law on those people and they went out full of power. Jesus said, go back to Jerusalem. Wait for me.
On the day of Pentecost, they were in that upper room. Y’all know the story. And the power of God fell. God showed up again, just like he did in Sinai, but in a different way. And he wrote on them this power inside of them and they took that out and they went out.
And what happened? 3000 people were saved that day. 3000 people from death to life. 3000 people died. In the Old Testament, 3000 people came to life.
Death to life. Symbolizing the power of God to use us, even use us today. Can I get some water, somebody? I took my cup over there. Thank you.
I’m having a tough time today. When you’re in a new room, it’s a little different. Okay. It’s a little harder to speak. Okay.
All right. Let’s go to acts one, three and five. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. Right. He resurrected from the dead.
He appeared to them over a period of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom of God. There it is, the kingdom God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them he gave them this commandment. Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait on the gift my father promised which you have heard me speak about. For John the Baptist baptized in water.
But in a few days, I’m going to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit acts and then it goes on. Verse eight. But you will receive power. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.
And you will be my witnesses. You will receive power and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Now, that’s powerful right there, guys. That is available to us today. Amen.
The Pentecost. The power to work in us today. Because it’s not about wild church services, guys. When you think of Pentecost, it’s not about wild church services, okay? It’s not about goo bumps and swinging the chandeliers, as we used to say.
Right? It’s not about weird body movements. Some of you have thought about. Well, when I think of Pentecost, I think about the, you know, weird body movements and things like that happening. It’s about the.
It’s not about any of that. It’s not about. That’s not what Pentecost is. Pentecost is about being filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. To be a testimony to the world, to be used by God in a powerful way in this world.
To be witnesses in Virginia beach, to be witnesses in Hampton roads, to be witnesses in this entire state and to the entire world. Amen. That’s what God has called us to do. That’s what that represents. And then there’s the tabernacle.
The second coming of Christ. The feast of tabernacles is what we call this, if you’re familiar with that. They celebrate to commemorate that day. Their final home came. The promised land was given to it.
They wandered much like our church. We wandered a lot. Right? We’re wandering. We’ve been in so many locations, it’s not even funny, you know, here and there and.
Pandemic seven times. You know, we’re like Israelites. You know, we’re just wandering. And the presence of God would go with us. Right?
And they brought. Amen. Amen. And they brought. They were finally brought to their home.
And they celebrated that. They celebrated that through this feast and Jesus, that fulfillment will take place. We are living on the earth temporarily. But one day we will be brought to our final home in heaven. Amen.
Hey, y’all gotta help me today. Gosh, these ceilings are low in here. Amen. I like to hear some amens. It does help.
It help. And there will be a great final harvest. And we are living in the days of that harvest. We are living in the days of that harvest. First.
Thessalonians 416 17. If you’re familiar with this picture or this scripture. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. And after that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them.
In the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And. And so we will be with the Lord. So we’re seeing three major holidays here. First of all, we see the Passover, which is God wants nothing else to save you.
And let me just give you an opportunity today. If you have not given your life to Jesus, Jesus is available to you for the forgiveness of sin. You can give your life to him today. Just surrender to him today. Say, Lord, you have my life.
You have my heart. You have everything. Lord, that there’s no condition. It’s a free gift of salvation. Every religion in this world tells you, you got to work to get to heaven.
Guess what? Jesus says it is available to you right now. Just believe in me, receive me, and I will make you whole. I will make you a new creation that is available to you. Then we have Pentecost, which he has an assignment for you that’s bigger than you, that’s bigger than you’re able to do, and you need that power to pull off that assignment, okay?
You cannot do it without them. So you need that. That’s the time we’re living in now. You need the power of God and then the tabernacle. So ultimately, we will receive tabernacle.
We will receive, the kingdom of heaven will be fully made available to us in the return of Jesus Christ one day. So we are living in the time of Pentecost. We are living in the time in which the church is empowered to reach the world until that day that he comes back and comes back fully. Amen. So we need to be prepared for that day.
We need to be prepared, preparing for the time that Jesus returned. So why do we need power? Because again, in acts 212, amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, what does this mean when they saw what happened in acts? Well, my hope is to help you understand that it means that he wants to empower you for the work he’s called you to do. So how does he empower you?
Four things real quick today. Four things real quick I want you to meditate on. First of all, the Holy Spirit empowers me to know Jesus intimately. And definitely he empowers me to know Jesus, that it’s not just words on a page, that he’s not just some person in history, that I know him now. The Holy Spirit reveals jesus to me fully.
He does many things. The Holy Spirit does all kinds of things. Convicts, sin, assures salvation, transformation happens, fruits of the spirit, spirit gifts, empowerment. But more than anything, he makes jesus real to us. The Holy Spirit makes him available to us to know him completely, that it’s not just theology, it’s not just head knowledge, but it’s an experience with God.
He allows us to know him fully and completely. That turns head knowledge into hearts that are set on fire for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because we know him so much. We know that he’s real, we know that he’s with us today. And it says, for the kingdom of God does not consist in talk, but consists in power.
It is power knowing that it can’t be explained, but it can be experienced. There’s just certain things we just can’t explain, but we can experience God and his power. The second thing is the Holy Spirit empowers us to live righteously. Righteously. Because in our hearts, before we were believers even, and even now, at times, we’re like, something’s not right.
Something’s off. I need something more than just me and making a better me. That’s why you see these Facebook posts all the time about me being a better me, because everybody’s trying to be a better me, but something’s not working about me being a better me because we need something more. And that’s the power of the Holy Spirit. He convicts us and leads us to salvation, and he empowers people to live like Jesus.
He transforms us, he makes us more like him. He reveals himself to us. And when we are living outside the spirit, we live by rules and laws, and that’s just impossible to do. We can look at the Bible. I’m supposed to do this.
I’m supposed to do this. And how much more that I did to do this. And I was talking to a guy, I was talking to a guy about this not too long ago, and he was like, you know, I’m trying to do the right. I think I’m doing the right thing. I’m trying to do the right thing.
I’m trying to teach my family to do the right thing. I don’t go to church. I believe in God. I said, well, but I’m kind of a really bad Christian, right? I’m really bad Christian.
And the truth is, you can’t be a good Christian by going to church. You can’t be a good Christian by reading your Bible all the time. You can’t. That’s an outworking of what’s already happened. The Holy Spirit inside of you producing all those things where you fall in love with Jesus, where he becomes so real to you and you’re empowered to live righteously.
And frankly, some of you, you love God and you want to do what’s right. But you haven’t been filled with the Holy Spirit. You haven’t allowed the holy spirit to take over the Holy Spirit to lead your life, to guide you. But when you’re empowered with the Holy Spirit, the law is no longer written on tablets. It’s written on the heart.
And we begin to work out from the heart. It’s etched in the heart, and he takes away those sinful desires. So many people. I’m going through this and going through, I’m trying to get rid of this sin. I’m trying to get this sin out of my life.
I’m trying. I’m trying. I’m trying. We’ll quit trying and allow the Holy Spirit to take over. Ask for the Holy Spirit to come upon you and take that away.
Romans eight nine says, you, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature, but by the spirit. And the spirit of God lives in you. The spirit of God lives in you. If you’re a believer in Jesus Christ today, you have available a power to overcome sin. You have available to you the power to have freedom in that place that you’ve been struggling with.
And making the excuse that we can’t do it, it’s just too much. It’s too big, it’s too strong. It’s because you’re not depending on the Holy Spirit, you’re depending on yourself. And you’ve got to lean in and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up and empower you so that you can live that righteous life. Romans eight nine.
Isaiah says it like this. In 30 21, whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way. Walk in it. That the Holy Spirit is available to us to tell us where to go and what to do. And you’ve heard that still fall voice, right?
That’s what the Holy Spirit does. When we ask the Holy Spirit to empower us, it helps us live righteously. It helps us make the right choices to move in the right directions. Number three, the Holy Spirit empowers me to live, get this, a supernatural life. To live a supernatural life.
Because we were never meant to live naturally. We were always meant to live supernaturally. And God has that available to us that we can live supernaturally. Jesus lived a supernatural life to show us how to live a supernatural life. He healed signs and wonders, miracles.
And what did he say? Greater works will you do than even this. That means it’s available to you. We must have a lot of Baptists in here, y’all Baptist, okay? Because they’re quiet right now.
They’re thinking about this, right? They’re thinking about this. But Jesus said greater works will you do than this. I’m not picking just on the Baptist, okay? I’m an equal opportunity offender.
Okay? So I offend our own denomination on time on things too, okay? But here’s the thing, guys. He still heals. God still heals.
Did you know that God still heals? Do we believe that God still heals? Do we believe that God still performs miracles? Amen. Do we believe that God still restores marriages that are really, really lost and really, really to the point where there’s no.
Do we believe that God does the supernatural? Is he still working? Do we believe that today? He gives us, he gives us these things by the power of his Holy Spirit. He gives us gifts.
He gives us abilities beyond ourselves. He takes us and uses us for all these things. Jesus was anointed in the same way, when we ask to be anointed, we’re following the pattern of Jesus. Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit and he was God. He depended on the Holy Spirit.
He asked the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit anointed him. At the baptism. We seed the Holy Spirit, come down like a dove and descend on him. And it says this in acts ten. And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth.
That’s why I know Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit, right, with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good, healing all who were oppressed by the devil. And God was with him. And we like that healing people and casting out demons part, you know, that was supernatural. But doing good is supernatural too.
That doing good, he went around doing good. We needed it. Yesterday we asked God’s power to be honest as we went out and did good. And guess what? God’s power was on people.
I watched God working as people were walking and people were going down the boardwalk handing out cards and hearing the stories and hearing the testimonies and the opportunity to pray for people, because that’s what the power of God does. It’s convicting lives everywhere. And by the power of spirit that’s in us, we’re able to meet those needs and meet those people and be used to say the right things, to pray the right things, to ask the right things, to counsel them in the right way. That’s how we’ll grow this church. That’s how we’ll grow this ministry is by trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to give us what we need to minister to this city, to minister to your neighbor, to minister to.
We need the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us and empower us to do that. First corinthians two, four and five says, my message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words. I love this scripture right here because I know it’s not me speaking, because my words aren’t. I’m not persuasive. I’m not.
I don’t claim to be wise, but I pray God, speak for me. Speak through me, but with a demonstration of spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on man’s wisdom, but on the power of God. The power of God that is available to us. Paul said that. Paul was a very gifted, intelligent person, and he trusted in the Holy Spirit.
The power of the Holy Spirit. And fourthly, and lastly, the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers me to live on mission. The power of the Holy Spirit gives me the ability to live on mission. We are to live on mission day in and day out.
We are not meant to be in church just to fix our issues. If you’re here just to get fixed, I love you. I want to help you. I want to guide you. I want you to be fixed because God can only fix you.
I can’t fix you. God can fix you. And we’ll pray for you. We’ll give you the proper counseling. But that’s not all that God has for you.
God wants you to be fixed so you can be used for his glory. He wants to use you. He wants to push you mission. He wants to get you on mission. He wants to empower you to be able to work day in and day out on mission.
First, Thessalonians one five says, our gospel came to you not simply with words, but with power, the Holy Spirit. And with deep conviction that it’s not just words, it’s not just clever sayings, it’s not just nice quotes from different books and different. It’s not just a TED talk. It’s power. It’s power from above.
And we come with the gospel. And the trick is the power of the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn’t make me better than you. It doesn’t even make me better. I better me.
Let me say it like that. It makes me better than me. It makes me better than me. And you need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us, to give us power from heaven.
And how that happens, you simply lift your hands and you lift your heart and you pray, God, empower me with your spirit. Would you do that today? Would you give God an opportunity to fill you with the spirit today? Would you do that? In fact, let’s just close our eyes and lift our hands.
I want everybody just in here, just raise your hands and raise your. And if you’re uncomfortable with it, that’s okay. But, you know, just lift your hands to Jesus and just start, start praying to him out loud. Lord Jesus, I need your spirit today. Goddess, I need to be empowered by you today.
Lord Jesus, we need your spirit. God, we cannot do this without you. This church cannot accomplish the vision without the power of your spirit. We need you. We are your church.
We are here today. We want to connect with heaven. We want to align with heaven today. In your will, God, so send your spirit upon us. Lord Jesus, give us everything we need, Lord Izejdehe Lord, give us.
Strengthen our gifts that we already have. Enable us to do things that we can’t do. Lord Jesus, for your glory, and let it always communicate you. God, I pray for each and every person here today. Be filled.
Be filled. Blow on them, Lord Jesus, let them receive you. Let their hearts be open to the things that you have for them to accomplish the mission that you’ve put in place for them. Give them confidence, give them boldness, Lord, to live out their Christianity in this world that says other things, that believes other things. Lord, that you would give them convictions, that you would lead them down paths, that they would have to depend on you, God.
Holy spirit, they’d have to depend on your anointing, Lord. We’re praying for that today, God. I pray, God, that we would see salvations happen through these people here today, that you would use them to lead somebody to Christ. Maybe there’s a family member that they want to see turn to you. Lord, we’re praying for that today.
Maybe there, maybe there’s someone, maybe there’s a neighbor, maybe there’s a best friend. Maybe there’s just a person at the grocery store that you’ve led and convicted them and said, you need to talk to them. We pray for them, Lord, that you would give them the power to share the gospel. Maybe there’s somebody you just need to pray for, for healing. Lord.
We pray, God, that your anointing would be over. People for healing and miracles, even Lord Jesus, we want to see your kingdom come. Your will be done on this earth as it is in heaven today. God, we’re asking for that, Lord, in the name of Jesus. God, and I pray, more importantly, that you help us live righteously because we can’t do the work that you’ve called us to do unless we’re able to live righteously.
And we can’t do that in our own works, Lord. We can only do that by the power of the spirit. So, God, turn our hearts towards that which is good. Turn our hearts to that which is you. Turn our hearts towards heaven, Lord.
Help us break for those that. Those people that break your heart, Lord. Help us break for the loss, Lord Jesus. Help us see what’s in our lives. Get that out of the way.
Get all the stuff in our hearts out, Lord. And we lay it at the altar right now, Lord. Jesus. We lay it down. We lay it down so that you can fill us up with all good things, Lord.
So we’re praying for that in the name of Jesus, God. God, give us every good thing that you have available for us to do your work. We surrender completely today, God. Fall on us, Lord. Fall on us, Lord.
Cause I’m coming back to the heart of worship. Because it’s not about me. It’s about you. And I’m sorry, Lord, that I made it about other things. I’m sorry, Lord.
I made it about myself. I thought. I’m sorry, Lord. I made it about all the good things I get. Although the good things are there because every good and gracious and wonderful thing comes from the spirit above.
From the father of light, say, I all come from heaven, Lord. We know that. But forgive me for making that my idol. Forgive me me for that. So I lay it down, Lord, because I want to be used by you.
I want to be used by you. I’m meant for more. We’re meant for more. Use us to do great things, Lord. In your name.
Amen. Amen. Can y’all give God a hand? Clap of praise? I have this.
I have this theory that the lower the ceilings, the harder it is to worship. So I want you to disprove that theory. Okay? And I want y’all to give God a good praise. Amen.
Hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah. Praise God. Praise Jesus. Amen.
Amen.
